"Chief Tillner has demonstrated sound leadership time and time again and when he explained the impact the Total Station technology would have on bringing efficiencies to his operations and pinpoint accuracy to his ability to gather evidence for future investigations, I found our partnership to be a perfect fit," remarks Maurice Denbow, MSCLE Foundation Executive Director. "It was a distinct honor being able to play a part in closing out a worthwhile project. More impressive than the equipment, however, is the way the community came together, generated discussions, interest and a rapid growth of support for their hometown police force. The outpouring and subsequent funding is a direct reflection of a mutual respect and true sense of community. Collierville Cares, Collierville Citizens Police Association, and especially the efforts of Tim Netherton are to be applauded. Without them, this equipment would still be just another thought lingering through a tight budget process."
Memphis/Shelby County Law Enforcement Foundation Receives Donation From Georgia Pacific
Wednesday, October 23, 2019

"It is always a pleasure to see Mr. James Barnes, Public Affairs Manager for Georgia Pacific and spokesperson for their Memphis Cellulose Community Enhancement Program. Yesterday was even more special as James stopped by the Foundation office and presented a check in support of our mission to assist law enforcement agencies in Shelby County with their public safety and crime fighting strategies. Georgia Pacific has been a Foundation partner for several years and continues to see the value in how the Foundation builds bridges and opens lines of communication and support between the community and the law enforcement agency that serves them." - Maurice Denbow, Executive Director of the Memphis/Shelby County Law Enforcement Foundation
Executive Director Maurice Denbow on Monday, July 22, 2019, had the distinct honor of attending a media release event today covering the donation of a police working dog to the Memphis Police Department.
Sonitrol was gracious enough to offer the cash gift to the Memphis/Shelby County Law Enforcement Foundation to apply to the purchase, at the request of the Police Director. Sonitrol Director of Sales, Chris Degenhardt, worked diligently with Sgt. Shannon Bowen of the MPD K-9 Unit, ultimately securing a new partner for Officer James Anderson. He and his new partner, Sonitrol, already nicknamed “Soni”, displayed their skills as they demonstrated their offensive tactics with bite suit exercises. Command staff from MPD, senior staff from Sonitrol and Director Denbow were there to offer support in this wonderful display of community partnership.

The Memphis and Shelby County Law Enforcement Foundation sponsored last week’s Forensic Training Class for the Bartlett Police Department.  Representatives from their Traffic Unit, Crime Scene Unit and Investigative Services Division were participating in advanced training which will enable them to better deploy their Crime Scene Laser Scanner which was obtained through partnership with the foundation.
